Monaghan

“The Monaghan branch of the RTAI  was formed in and has been active since that time. Meetings are held twice a year and are rated between Monaghan town in the north of the county and Carrickmacross in the south. The members meet at noon to hear from their officers and from the General Secretary.  They show a particular interest in health and welfare issues along with the pension conditions for retired teachers. The meeting finishes with lunch in a local hotel.

Guests speakers also come and talk to the members about their particular areas of interest and expertise.

Next Branch Meeting

The 2024 Summer meeting of the Monaghan branch of the RTAI will be held in the Shirley Arms Hotel on Tuesday, 21st May at 12.00 noon followed by lunch.

Getting Together Again! - Lunches for Members, October 2021- Report and Photos
Members of the Monaghan branch got together in three different venues in the middle of October to mark the easing of restrictions.
The branch hosted lunches in the Hillgrove Hotel, Monaghan, Concra Wood Golf Club, and the Shirley Arms Hotel and welcomed members for the first informal get together in nearly two years.
Members took the opportunity to get together with former colleagues and friends and celebrated the fact that such a gathering was now possible.
For some it was the first visit to a restaurant since Covid imposed restrictions and the invitation to lunch was the signal they needed to get out and about again.
All members present at the three venues really enjoyed the afternoon and looked forward to more of the same in the months ahead!
