Colmán Ó Raghallaigh

A former deputy Principal, Colmán Ó Raghallaigh taught for 35 years in Knock and Balla national schools, both in his native Mayo.
A holder of a Masters Degree in Modern Irish from UCG, Colmán is the author of many books in Irish for children and young adults. He has won several awards for his books including his graphic novel An Táin and his contribution to children’s literature in Ireland has also been honoured.
In 1996 he set up Cló Mhaigh Eo to publish high quality books in Irish and has since published books by more than 20 Irish authors.
Colman has now returned to NUI Galway to undertake a further Masters Programme, this time in the field of Old and Middle Irish.

Eithne Ui Chonaill

Following her graduation Eithne spent her initial year teaching in her home parish of Clashmore, Co. Waterford. Subsequently she taught for 35 years in Glasheen Girls’ School, Cork.
Following her retirement from teaching Eithne qualified as an educational psychologist and continues to work part-time in that capacity.
Next Autumn Eithne will graduate from St. Pat’s College/DCU with a Doctorate in Education. Her specialism is in the area of how best the special educational needs of exceptionally able pupils can be met in mainstream primary schools.
